Based on the true story of Belle Starr, this series showcases some of the late 1800s most famous Western outlaws and the lawmen who hunted them, all through the eyes of a duplicitous female kingpin known by history as The Bandit Queen.
At 16 years old, Belle is left to fend for herself amid the ashes of Civil War that destroyed her family and left her homeless. Despite the odds stacked against her, she uses her looks and her cunning to befriend outlaws like Jesse James and the Younger Gang. In Indian Territory, Belle Starr quickly rises to become a kingpin of the illegal whiskey trade through a cunning game of chess played against a witty Judge (Isaac Parker) and his ruthless marshals (Bass Reeves).
